About Krista
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education degree, instrumental emphasis, and Bachelor of Music degree, percussion performance from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. I was the outstanding senior in the B.M. degree for my class.
Classically trained, my favorite percussion instrument is the marimba. I also play snare drum, timpani, percussion accessories, and drum set. Most percussion lessons are done on marimba, snare, and drum set.
I currently perform regularly as the drummer for Southern Resident Killer Whales. We have shows throughout the Twin Cities every 6-8 weeks. Links to shows will be posted in events. Please note that not all shows are all ages.
I am also a snare drummer with Historic Fort Snelling Fifes and Drums. We play almost evey Saturday in the Old Fort during the Summer.
As the band teacher at Twin Cities German Immersion School, I teach grades 5-8, including instruments flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion. We play throughout the year at school events, and have a final concert in May.
